Hypertufa is an artificial stone that is intended as a manufactured substitute for natural tufa, which is a slowly precipitated limestone rock. It is made from a mix of aggregates (a composite material) and Portland cement.
Hypertufa is relatively lightweight compared with concrete or terra cotta and can be a long lasting creation that withstands all climates, year in and year out.
Common hypertufa projects are usually a landscaping container of some sort including planters, pots and troughs, but you can also make stepping stones, faux landscaping stones or garden retaining walls.
